- Jonathan Kramer -- The will of Jonathan Kramer, late of Worthington Twp., has been filed for probate. The heirs are J.F. Kramer of this city, W.C. Kramer of Wakeman, W.N. Kramer of Butler, S.R. Kramer of Oberlin, Minnie Kick of Loudonville, Emma Montgomery of Fredericktown, Maude Stattler of Butler, Daisy Kramer of Columbus, Ada Kramer of Butler, Blanche Kick and Walter Kick. The widow, Sarah C. Kramer is given the property in Butler, consisting of lot 198, all the household furniture, books, pictures, etc. She is also given $4,000 in notes and money, she to have the income during her life time. She is given the privilege of using a part or all of the principal if necessary, she to exercise the same economy she has always used. At her death what is left of the $4,000 is to be divided equally among the heirs. All this is intended to be in lieu of her dower and her claim to a year's support. The executor is directed to erect a monument to cost not more than $200. Blanche Kick, a granddaughter, is given $100 and Walter Kick, a grandson, is given $150, the latter is given the greater sum because the former had received $50. Al the residue of the estate is left to the children of the deceased, share and share alike, they to share per stirpes and not per capita. The widow is directed to consult the sons in regard to the investment of the $4,000. J.F. Kramer is appointed executor of the will for which he is to be paid $200. The will is dated July 7, 1911 and is witnessed by Asa Spayde and H.M. Swank. [Crestline Advocate: 12 October 1911 as reprinted from the Mansfield News]

- Danton Mickey -- The last will of Danton Mickey of Shelby who died in February has been filed for probate. The deceased bequeaths to Harry P. Mickey all his real and personal property but stipulating that his executor shall purchase a suitable burial lot in Oakland cemetery for his resting place and that on the lot for himself and immediate family that suitable monument be erected to cost not to exceed $800. Harry P. Mickey is appointed executor of the will which was dated Nov. 13, 1905 at Shelby and witnessed by T.J. Green and Kittie Sonnanstine. [Mansfield Daily Shield: 14 March 1910]

Social and vital statistics for the year ending 31 March 1896: Thirty-nine letters of guardianship were issued, including 56 children, 1 drunkard, 9 insane persons and 2 imbeciles. Seventy-five wills were probated, 62 testamentary letters, 75 letters of administration issued and 137 estates administered. Twenty-three final naturalization papers were issued to one native of Austria, one of England, 16 of Germany, one of Ireland and two of Italy. One person was sent to reform farm at Lancaster, 15, seven males and 8 females were sent to the insane hospital at Toledo, and three females were sent to the hospital for epileptics at Gallipolis.
